A Little About The Creator of Geekmax:

I love video games, I love technology, and I love Science. All the makings of a huge geek/nerd/dork/whatever label you see fit. So naturally if I were to create a blog, those are the things I would write about. I grew up in a small (very small) country town about an hour's drive from Dallas, TX. I was a Nintendo kid, I watched a lot of Star Trek with my parents, and being out in the country we had a GREAT view of the Texas night sky. We'd stay up all night when the Earth passed through the asteroid belts to watch meteor showers until 4 a.m.. These are some of the fondest memories I have from my childhood, and I think very much influenced who I am.

The root of my online handle has always been imax, but I have mostly gone by imaximus or imax101. This was a nickname given to me by a teacher in high school which started out as "intimidator", then grew into a silly Greek variation of  "intimidous maximus", and then finally shortened to "imax". For some reason that name always had a nice ring to it, and so I just adopted it for all my online handles later in life. Also I would like to point out that this was long before the spread of all the IMAX Movie Theaters across the country... that almost ruined it for me lol. Another staple of my online identity has always been Terminator. It was my favorite movie growing up and I just love the concept of cyborgs from the future. That is technology at it's finest isn't it? Time traveling robots of death... f--k yea. So avatar after avatar always had some kind of terminator influence. I have become so attached to these self adopted memes that I feel like they are a part of my DNA. They are who I am.

I spend most of my free time reading up mostly on news in the gaming world, but also in the tech and science world as well, that is... when I'm not glued to Elite Dangerous. I found that I have unique opinions on most of these topics, and I wanted my own unique place to express them. My hope is to meet like minds and have meaningful discussions about life and technology while simultaneously being entertaining. So thank you for stopping by Geekmax and thank you for all your interest! I hope you enjoy your visit!
